കടലിടുക്കിലൂടെയുള്ള കപ്പൽ ഗതാഗതം പുനഃസ്ഥാപിക്കാനും ഇറാന്റെ ആണവ പരിപാടികളെക്കുറിച്ച് ചർച്ചകൾ ആരംഭിക്കാനും ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ട് ജൂണിൽ ഒരു ഇടക്കാല കരാർ എത്തിച്ചേർന്നിരുന്നു. പാകിസ്ഥാനും ഖത്തറുമാണ് ഈ കരാറിന് മധ്യസ്ഥത വഹിച്ചത്. മെക്ക ജോയിന്റ് ഡിഫൻസ് കരാർ പഠിച്ച ശേഷം അതിനെ പിന്തുണയ്ക്കണോ എന്ന് ടെഹ്‌റാൻ തീരുമാനിക്കുമെന്നും മൊഗാദം കൂട്ടിച്ചേർത്തു.
English Summary: Iran has expressed willingness to engage in talks with the US under a Pakistan-brokered interim agreement to resolve the Strait of Hormuz standoff. Tehrans ambassador to Islamabad, Reza Amiri Moghadam, stated that Iran conveyed through Pakistan its readiness to reopen the Strait if Washington lifted its naval blockade. However, Moghadam accused US President Donald Trump of rejecting the proposal by insisting on continuing the blockade of Iranian ports. Pakistan and Qatar helped broker the June agreement which aimed to restore shipping through the strait and begin negotiations on Irans nuclear program. Moghadam also noted that Tehran would study the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement before deciding on its support.
